PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT
This notice is being provided pursuant to the Privacy Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552a(e)(3), to inform you about why the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (“Commission”) is collecting this information from you. Authority: The Commission has the authority to collect this information pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Act, Pub. L. 111-203, Title VII, Section 748(g)(2)(B), the Commodity Exchange Act, 7 U.S.C. 22(a)(2)-(3), and Commission regulations at 17 C.F.R. Part 165.
Purpose: The information you provide will be used by the Commission primarily to establish fraud working groups, which will examine financial frauds and explore ways to combat or disrupt those frauds, and to communicate with you regarding your participation in those working groups. The Commission may also, with your express permission, share your contact information with other individuals who are members of the working groups.
Routine Uses: In addition, it is possible the that Commission may disclose the information you provide to a third party pursuant to a “routine use” where such disclosure is required by law or otherwise necessary and proper. A complete list of “routine uses” can be found in the relevant system of records notice, CFTC-53, Mailing, Event, and General Contact Lists, 84 Fed. Reg. 17814.
Consequences of Not Providing the Information: Providing this information is voluntary, but if you do not provide it the Commission may not be able to include you as a member of the working groups nor be able to communicate with you concerning working group activities.
